About The Author

J.R. Sorensen grew up in Maryland before moving out to California at the age of 16. After graduating high school he took a year off of formal education before going to the local community college, then dropped out after one semester to pursue other interests. He lived in Washington State for a short time, making music and day trading on the stock market, then lived in Georgia working as a carpenter before moving back to California to work as a server.
He has been writing as long as he’s been reading, influenced over the years by everything from Choose Your Own Adventure and Scary Stories books to Goosebumps and R.L. Stein to Dean Koontz and Michael Crichton to Barbara Kingsolver and Stephen King.
He’s won writing awards over the years for essays and short fiction and is now writing novels as well as blogs under the moniker of The Misfit Philosopher.
He is currently enrolled at Arizona State University with a major in Psychology.
